The History of Sentinel IT Consultancy
As any computer literate person would know, the golden rule is NEVER tell your friends you know how to fix computers. Unfortunately, this was a lesson that Will Ford, owner of Sentinel IT Consultancy did not learn until it was too late!
Growing up in the 80's and 90's as the son of a professional graphic designer, electronics geek and motorsport fanatic, Will quickly became the person his teachers, friends and family would trust with any computer, electrical or automotive related issues they faced. Luckily for Will, this was something he was always more than happy to assist with. At age 8, Will was made president of his Primary School's computer club and by age 12 he was responsible for all maintenance, upgrades and training of both teachers and staff in his school relating to new hardware and software. This continued throughout his Higher Education where he also took on the role of chief of Sound and Lighting and was awarded the Hills Shire Council Community Service award in 2001 for his voluntary services to the local community.
Once finishing his higher education, Will quickly found employment in the Electronics and Computer Programming industry and was responsible for designing and developing hardware and software solutions for multinational corporations including the military. Working in this field proved to be extremely beneficial as Will was able to learn quickly from the industry's most skilled professionals. At age 18, Will was qualified as a NATA Certified Calibration Technician, the youngest ever person to achieve this qualification. During the next few years, Will worked closely with the CSIRO to develop new Australian Standards and certified testing practices in the field of Acoustics which are still used today. Whilst maintaining this career path, Will also continued to assist within the community on a voluntary basis using his IT, Electronics, Web Design and Audio and Visual expertise.
In 2004, Will was approached by multiple businesses who had heard about his Web Design and Programming work. Following this, Will began developing small scale websites for a limited number of clients. During this time Will was also approached by Brett Middleton of MRT Performance who had seen his involvement in the online modified car enthusiast community and offered him a position as a moderator on the MRT Performance Online Forums. Within the next 2 years, Will took ownership of these forums and by 2007 had become the forum administrator, still on a voluntary basis with the hope of building up his industry contacts and name in the industry.
In January 2007, due to Will's growing number of clients, Sentinel IT Consultancy was formed.
The time since then has seen Sentinel IT Consultancy grow strongly into a highly regarded company specialising in dynamic, content driven websites with a firm bedding in the modified car industry.
Sentinel IT Consultancy prides itself on not only it's technological know how, but also its understanding of the companies who employ it's services and their related industries. Working closely with our clients, we strive to deliver the best possible solutions to suit their needs both on time and on budget.
